Here's to the Just-FriendsI have always had a terrible habit of falling in love instantaneously.  It is never something planned or well understood or predicted, just something that simply happened and took my breath away. Each time it has, the passionate Italian half of the family would sigh in a mixture of silent nostalgia (this trait is surely genetic) and knowing halfsmiles and remark to themselves that this particular daughter has always had a curious relationship with thunderbolts.
There are two varieties.  The ones we always noticed were those that came cracking out of the sky, splitting it open, dramatic, flashy, terrifying and beautiful.  Troublemakers.  The kind that overloaded circuits, burnt down century old trees, and hurt people.  They may have connected heaven and earth for all their transient heat, but they were brief and they were almost always dangerous.  And then there were the equally beautiful but less dramatic bolts that stayed up there.  Warm diffused soc
