I think all the colors are too neutral the forground doesn't contrast too well with the background because the flower is out of focus. From a technical standpoint.. The flower should be sharper and show more detail...If exposed correctly you should be able to see more detail in the flower.. Maybe this was done for artistic feel, but from a technical standpoint with photography people are trying to capture the details within the delicate flowers...and that is the difficulty of photography trying to capture the details...anyone can capture a blurry out of focus picture...but you need to know a lot of things like lighting, exposure, etc... to capture the details in a photograph...
